Ashgrove Pavilion

Old house, new centre of gravity

The original cottage was kept intact and given a new heart: a timber-lined pavilion that opens the whole rear of the house to the garden.

Nothing visible from the footpath changed. The addition sits behind the existing ridge, so the streetscape reads exactly as it did in 1936.

  • Recycled brick paving carried through from the original path
  • A single roof plane, no ceiling — the structure is the finish
